Poet Stephen John Kalinich and head Beach Boy Brian Wilson made a record together in 1969 called A World of Peace Must Come. The record wasn’t released until 2008.
But, to the delight of Beach Boys’ fans everywhere, A World of Peace Must Come was re-released this past spring on Record Store Day on Light in the Attic. It was a vinyl release that allows you to feel Kalinich’s poetry at its most exuberant and passionate and Wilson’s music at its most creative and experimental.
Kalinich was kind enough to share with SEM a slideshow of “America, I Know You.” It’s our track of the day. Enjoy the slideshow and listen for the hint of SMiLE in Wilson’s music.
