Glasgow, Scotland-located DIY musician Christopher Devine records under the moniker Western Column for his solo output.
He’s released his two singles, “Shoulder” and “Golde,” and is now following those with the restless and building-up-in-intensity “Hear not Say.”
Stereo Embers is pleased to host the premiere of the compelling, guitar-driven “Hear not Say” today, on the day of its release via Glasgow-based Negative Hope Records.
Devine’s contemplative to urgent vocals roam over the slow-burning guitar atmosphere until it all blazes out with vivid passion.
Devine modestly reveals, “Having only been the third song I’ve entirely written myself, I feel like I’m still finding my feet and trying different things to see what sticks.”
“This track was a good bit of fun trying out ideas and more than anything it was a really good learning experience.”
For the listener “Hear not Say” is much more than a music experiment; it’s an ear-catching track that’s full of moody sonics and vocals. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Melissa Brisbane, who also appears on guest vocals.
