Stereo Embers’ Single of the Week: The Sea Life’s “Prozac and Merlot”

Stereo Embers’ Single of the Week comes from the D.C. shoegaze outfit The Sea Life. The band’s new track “Prozac and Merlot” is soaked in sonic fuzz and brings to mind the best work of Chapterhouse or Slowdive. Amidst a prowling bass line and chiming guitars, singer Jon Weiss moves in and out of the deeply textured composition with commanding finesse. The band is currently at work on the follow up to their 2012 In Basements album and if the grinding majesty of this track is any indication, The Sea Life is an outfit to keep a close eye on in 2015.
