1. Peaking Lights…because we all need a little Peaking Lights in our lives. New album coming soon. New single “Breakdown” is a summer hit.
2. Holögrama–Spanish artist on the wonderful Trouble In Mind Records…so, so good! Fave track of the week is “Waves”–the full-length drops on 10/28/14.
3. Brian Jonestown Massacre–“Hornstrndir” is the most intense shit I have heard Anton Newcombe put out since he got sober…he disappointed me at Psych Fest this year. I left wondering if he was washed up. I was wrong.
4. Drab Majesty is from Los Angeles and reminds me of junior high!
5. Tijuana Panthers out of Long Beach have made my commute a bit easier lately.
6. New single from Aussie Psych weirdos King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. New album I’m In Your Mind Fuzz comes out on 10/31/14 and I regret missing their set at Austin Psych Fest this year. Superb track.
7. Guy Blakeslee is an interesting character and the frontman for The Entrance Band…His solo work is intense. This track has been an obsession of mine for a couple of months.
8. S.F. producer/DJ Al Lover (and official Austin Psych Fest DJ) teams up with the talented Morgan Delt of Los Angeles on this new track. Be excited about Al Lover’s new album Sacred Drugs being released on 10/1/14
9. Kevin Morby is best known as being the bassist for Woods and his solo work deserves some recognition.
10. The guys behind Burger Records work extremely hard at delivering us new music constantly….And the recent single by The Abigails makes me smile.
11. My crush on Karen O will never end. Her album Crush Songs is released 9/9/14
