Spoon’s Britt Daniel has recorded a moving take of David Bowie’s “Never Let Me Down.”
The title track to Bowie’s 1987 album, “Never Let Me Down” found the late musician singing in an affecting falsetto along to a funky backbeat.
Daniel’s take is far more sombre, and fittingly so, in light of the news of Bowie’s death early this week.
Offering a spare acoustic reading, Daniel turns the song into an aching lullaby, a wrenching, grateful homage.
