Siouxsie Sioux is back.
In July of 2023, the legendary singer is set to headline the Latitude Festival’s BBC Sounds Stage, along with Pulp, George Ezra and Paolo Nutini.
The performance will break a decade-long hiatus from playing live. Her last performance was for Yoko Ono’s Meltdown Festival in 2013, where she had a sold-out, two-night run.
Latitude Festival Director Melvin Benn said in a statement: “What a privilege it is to welcome the iconic Siouxsie to the Latitude Festival. Siouxsie has been an enduring trailblazer and her impact across musical culture is colossal. Uncompromisingly defiant, Siouxsie’s powerful body of work is incomparable. There has never been a live performer like her and there probably never will be!”
In other Siouxsie Sioux news, an album called All Souls was released in October.
An aggregation of classic tracks and rarities which together form an Autumnal-themed mosaic, All Souls was personally curated by Siouxsie herself.
Although the album contains well-known numbers like “Fireworks” and “Spellbound,” it also features B-sides like “El Dia De Los Muertos” “Something Wicked (This Way Comes)” and “Supernatural Thing, which dates back to 1981’s “Arabian Nights” single.
The aforementioned B-sides hadn’t been pressed on vinyl in over three decades.
