Opening for Robert Plant and the Shape Shifters, Sheryl Crow and her band checked in with a breezy set of rootsy pop bliss.
Playing to a packed house at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in New York, the nine-time Grammy winner was all smiles as she tore through her songbook with a smile on her face and spring in her step.
The Missouri-born Crow has one of the most powerful voices in popular music and whether she was playing cuts from her latest album (Be Myself, 2017) or well-worn classics like “It It Makes You Happy,” her sound remains fresh and timeless.
“Can’t Cry Anymore” had a dark sizzle, “All I Wanna Do” came with a percussive punch and “Soak Up The Sun” still sounds like a song taken from the soundtrack to the best summer you’ve ever had.
