Today’s TRACK OF THE DAY comes from Kelompok Penerbang Rocket, a three-piece rock band out of Jakarta, Indonesia.
Featuring John Paul Patten (aka Coki) on bass and lead vocals, Rey Marshall (aka Rey) on guitar and backing vocals, and Igusti Vikranta (aka Viki) on drums and backing vocals, KPR cite Black Sabbath, Motörhead, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin as influences, but their true inspiration comes from bands from their own country: AKA, Duo Kribo, and Panbers.
Already extremely popular in their native Indonesia (the band was recently written up in Rolling Stone Indonesia), KPR have released “Let Us Dance Together” as the lead single from their Haai album, which came out on July 27, 2015 on Sinjitos Records.
“Let Us Dance Together” adds a psychedelic and dance tinge to KPR’s heavy sound. It’s SEM’s TRACK OF THE DAY.
