Although Sade has been on the pop culture radar since 1984, the singer has remained in that time period one of the most elusive and private stars in the business.
And because she’s only released a total of six albums in the last thirty five years, any Sade music news is notable to talk about.
The Nigerian-born Sade revealed this week that she’s recorded a song that features in the Viola Davis film Widows.
Titled “The Big Unknown,” the track is about grief and endurance and it found Widows director Steve McQueen gushing about her inclusion on the soundtrack.
“It was an honour to work with such a legend,” the director told the Los Angeles Times. “Sade is an incomparable talent and incredible artist who so rarely releases new material, but luckily the original series of Widows had deeply resonated with her.”
2018 has been an uncharacteristically active year for Sade. She contributed the acoustic number “Flower Of The Universe” to the movie “A Wrinkle In Time” back in March and rumors that she’s putting the finishing touches on the follow up to her last studio album Soldier Of Love (2010) have been circulating.
