Rickie Lee Jones’ First Two Albums Set For Vinyl Release

Written by:

Rickie Lee Jones’ first two albums are set to be released on vinyl.

Although her self-titled 1979 effort and its 1981 follow-up Pirates were both re-released by AWAL Recordings last year both digitally and on CD, fans will be delighted to know they can now get the two out-of-print albums on vinyl.

Although both are considered classics, Pirates is perhaps the mercurial Chicago-born singer’s real masterpiece. Featuring Donald Fagen of Steely Dan, trumpeter Randy Brecker and Victor Feldman, Pirates remains one of the most idiosyncratic, artistically ambitious and altogether original collections of music ever recorded.

The two-time Grammy Award-winning singer played the entire album live at Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park in 2017.

Set for a January 18 release, the two albums can also be pre-ordered.
