We’re sorry to report that one of our favorite bands over here at Stereo Embers have broken up.
Noah and the Whale, who were one of the most innovative, stirring and altogether thrilling bands of the last ten years, have split.
Formed in Twickenham, London back in 2006, the band’s discography includes four albums (Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down, The First Days Of Spring, Last Night On Earth and Heart of Nowhere). Noah and the Whale count Laura Marling, Emmy The Great, Lillie Flynn and Slow Club’s Rebecca Taylor as past members.
In an official statement from the band, they wrote they were “immensely grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way.”
They went on to add: “There are too many people to mention in this short message but we would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to all of our amazing fans, who have supported us so magnificently over the years and made everything possible.”
Singer Charlie Fink is reportedly already working on a solo album.
