The Pixies have released their first new music since bassist Emma Richardson (Band Of Skulls) replaced Paz Lenchantin.
Although the ousting of Lenchantin was decidedly inelegant, the legendary band is trying to put the past behind them and forge on with new material.
The first step of that process comes in the form of a double A-side “You’re So Impatient”/”Que Sera, Sera.”
The former is a new original track, while the latter is a slow-burn cover of the 1955 Livingston/Evans number made famous by Doris Day in The Man Who Knew Too Much.
In a statement, Pixies described “You’re So Impatient” as an, “explosive two minute, nine-second Zombie attack at the mall.”
