I caught Jackie Greene the other night at the Fairfield Theatre in Connecticut and he was awesome.
Greene, who hails from Northern California, was right at home on stage and he played a stellar eighteen-song set that opened with the bluesy “I Don’t Live In A Dream” and ended with a rousing version of “1961.”
The first set included “Captain’s Daughter” and “I’m So Gone” as well as covers of The Grateful Dead’s “Deal” and Dylan’s “Tonight I’ll Be Staying With You.”
The second set included “Where The Downhearted Go,” a new song that Greene had never played before live as well as rousing takes on “‘Til The Light Comes” and “Don’t Let The Devil Take Your Mind.”
It was quite a night.
