The Libertines are planning to release a new album in 2015.
The follow-up to their self-titled sophomore album from 2004 is not only one of the most highly anticipated albums in recent memory, it may very well have Jack White producing it.
In an interview with the French television station D8, The Libertines’ Pete Doherty revealed that White has indeed expressed interest in producing the record.
“Jack White says he’d like to do it…” he said. “I’d love him to do it, it would be amazing, but I don’t want to get too hopeful…”
Mick Jones of The Clash produced the first two Libertines records and there’s no word from his camp if he’d consider doing another.
