The Pet Shop Boys are set to release a new song in May.
Titled “Cricket Wife,” the orchestral-tinged track clocks in at close to ten minutes.
“Cricket Wife” will be released as a CD single in tandem with the book Annually 2021.
A further tantalizing detail is the CD will also contain a “lockdown version” of the group’s evergreen 1984 hit “West End Girls.”
Annually 2021 comes in at 64 pages. Made up of diary entries and rare photos, the book will focus on 1986 and will also feature bits about how the Pet Shop Boys handled the quarantine of 2020.
