Stereo Embers has made it no secret that The Felice Brothers are one of our favorite artists in music today.

It also turns out that the band’s singer/guitarist Ian Felice is one of our favorite fine artists as well.

The subjects of Felice’s art are always in a state of flux–something’s burning, someone’s smoking or somewhere there’s an otherworldy duel in the sky. His paintings are stirring portraits that radiate a darkness that’s both quiet and quirky. In his universe there are ships on fire, girls in swimming caps, a wistful giraffe, prairie hoodlums and a boy playing violin to a peacock.
