Singer Nomoreloss Dead At 42

Stereo Embers has learned that the charismatic Nigerian Afropop singer Nomoreloss has died.

He was hospitalized in January with Typhoid and was unable to recover.

He was 42.

Although he was a high school rapper, the Lagos-born musician who was born Olumuyiwa Osinuga, studied under legendary saxophonist Kunle Ajayi, and had tastes that ranged from classical music to jazz to hip-hop.

His appreciation of a wide range of music made his own work brim with variety and life. An amalgam of reggae, soul, R&B and traditional African textures, his sound was dubbed “New High Life.”

In 2012 he wrote “This Year” which was a massive hit for Jaywon and his 2015 effort Grass To Grace is a collection teeming with vitality, heart and soul.

A talented songwriter, producer, television presenter and personality, Nomoreloss will be missed.

He leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
