New Order’s Power Corruption And Lies Expanded To Definitive Five-Disc Collection

Written by:

New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies is an essential album.

However, the essential edition of that album is about to be released.

Rhino Records has announced that the legendary Manchester band’s 1983 classic will be reissued in a sprawling five-disc box set that will include a treasure trove of material.

Billed as the Power, Corruption & Lies: Definitive Edition box set, the collection will contain the original album remastered for the first time from the original analog tapes. Part two of the set comes in the form of a disc called Extras, which will include 13 previously unreleased tracks that range from material culled from both John Peel appearances and group recording sessions.

The multi-format set boasts a 180-gram vinyl LP, two CDs, two DVDs and an accompanying 50-page hardback book that will come replete with rare photos of the band.

As for the DVDs, they’ll be comprised of live performances from 1982-1983 and will also include the 1984 band-produced documentary “Play At Home.”

The Power, Corruption & Lies: Definitive Edition box set will be out October 2 and can be pre-ordered now.
