Written by:

Morrissey has announced plans to release a new album this fall.

Titled Low In High School, the album is the follow-up to 2014’s World Peace Is None Of Your Business.

The new disc was recorded at La Fabrique Studios in France as well as Ennio Morricone’s Rome-based Forum Studios.

Low In High School was produced by Boston native Joe Chiccarelli (The Shins, Augie March), who is no stranger to working with the former frontman of the Smiths–Chiccarelli produced Moz’s last effort as well as his b-side compilation Swords.

In a prepared statement BMG’s EVP Korda Marshall said: “There are not many artists around today that can compare to Morrissey…He is an extraordinary talent. He is prodigious, literate, witty, elegant and above all, courageous. His lyrics, humour and melodies have influenced many generations. The music on this new landmark record will speak for itself and we are delighted to welcome him to BMG.”

To herald the album’s arrival, Moz will play a Hollywood Bowl launch gig on Nov 10.

Low In High School will be out November 17.
