Love Child have announced they will reform for the first time in thirty years.
Formed at Vassar College by Rebecca Odes and Will Baum in the late ’80s, Love Child played a daring and quirky blend of punk rock and no-wave. The result was a blast of equal parts tension and hard-earned melodic grace.
In the six years they were together (1987-1993) the New York outfit amassed a cult following, puttingĀ out two records on Homestead–1990’s Okay? and 1991’s Witchcraft–before calling it a day two years later.
The new compilation Never Meant To Be gathers album tracks, radio sessions and singles as well as other sonic odds and ends.
The indie rock trio of Odes, Brendan O’Malley and Alan Licht will play their first show together in over three decades at Union Pool on June 9th.
