The June Brides, who are one of Stereo Embers’ all-time favorite bands, have announced they will release a new EP in September.
Called She Seems Quite Free, the three-song effort finds the ‘Brides back together with their original lineup and flanked by bassist Arash Torabi and drummer Steve Beswick.
The title track is a breezy stunner that jangles effortlessly away in classic June Brides fashion. Singer Phil Wilson has a delivery that’s all finesse, and his understated phrasing remains one of the great treasures in popular music. Embroidered with a soaring trumpet and one of the smoothest bass lines of the year, “She Seems Quite Free” is unreasonably lovely–a song that summons the breeze, the surf and the graceful leaps of a joyful heart.
She Seems Quite Free comes out in September on Occultation Recordings in the United Kingdom and Slumberland in the United States.
