Charlie Quintana, the legendary drummer who played with everyone from The Plugz to Bob Dylan has died.
The El Paso-born musician was 55.
Quintana got his start playing with the L.A. punk outfit The Plugz. He later went on to play with the Cruzados, Izzy Stradlin, Bob Dylan, Cracker, Agent Orange, Joan Osborne and Social Distortion.
He played with Social Distortion from 2000-2009.
“I saw Charlie play live with everyone from Social D. to Cracker,” SEM’s Matt Sloan recalls. “I can’t think of a drummer that had as much muscle and grace.”
