Kevin Smith has suffered a massive heart attack.
Scary news indeed, but a hospital bed selfie posted to Twitter has calmed down the beloved director’s fans.
The 47-year-old Smith, who was in the middle of filming “Comic Book Men” onstage in Glendale, California, revealed that his health scare came in between shows.
“After the first show this evening, I had a massive heart attack”, he tweeted. “The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka the widow-maker). If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground!”
A native of New Jersey, the normally heavyset Smith has been svelte in recent years–the “Clerks” director shed nearly 100 pounds back in 2015.
Smith’s tweet came just after midnight on Monday morning.
