Josh Homme is headed back to the United States for emergency surgery.
The Queens of the Stone Age frontman will be out of action for the rest of July, with the band heading back on the road August 8th for the Way Out West Festival in Sweden.
They’re set to tour the U.S. in the fall with The Kills.
The fifty-one-year-old Homme’s unspecified medical matter has forced the band to cancel dates in France, Slovakia, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Romania, Hungary, and Greece.
In a statement the band wrote: “Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”
The QOTSA camp hasn’t disclosed what is ailing Homme, but fans observed that the singer was limping during the band’s July 6th show in Milan, leading some to theorize that Homme might be dealing with a hernia.
