Imagine Dragons debuted the video for their song “Roots” today.
In what is perhaps their most personal clip yet, the narrative features singer Dan Reynolds engaging in a literal and spiritual search for his own roots.
Directed by Matt Eastin, the video was filmed in Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand while the Las Vegas band were in the midst of their Smoke + Mirrors tour.
An interesting sidenote: Imagine Dragons were the first musical guests to appear on The Muppets.
What song did they play?
“Roots.”
Because let’s face it–a lot of us can trace our pop culture ancestry back to the Muppets.
