The Godfathers are set to release a new album in early 2017.
Led by Peter and Chris Coyne, for over 30 years The Godfathers have been playing a feral blend of pub rock, punk and R&B.
Although their Birth, Work, School, Death album cracked the U.S. Top 40 back in 1988, in a recent press release announcing the new record, singer Peter Coyne says the band has no interest in nostalgia: “The Godfathers do not intend to rely on past glories – we can always do it bigger, badder and more beautiful than before.”
He’s not kidding.
Filled with searing anthems for outsiders (“You And Me Against The World”), fight songs for the working class (“Poor Boy’s Son”) and inspiration for the uninspired (“Let’s Get Higher”), Big Bad Beautiful Noise is a cathartic and rousing blast of invigorating rock and roll.
The legendary London outfit’s last record was 2013’s Jukebox Fury and even though they’ve released several singles since then, the band’s new long player Big Bad Beautiful Noise will mark the first album with their new lineup.
Set to come out February 10, Big Bad Beautiful Noise is set to kick off 2017 in rather electrifying fashion.
“I can honestly say I really am proud of every single song on this record,” Coyne goes on to say. “We wanted to make a contemporary Rock & Roll album that kicked like a mule, and I think we’ve achieved that.”
