Frank Sinatra Jr. has died.
The cause of death for the singer and progeny of Frank Sinatra Sr. was a heart attack. Sinatra died while on tour in Daytona Beach, Florida, leaving family and friends shocked at his sudden passing. No other details have been disclosed, but a source has reported that there were no warning signs, and that the musician seemed to be in fine health and great spirits prior to his death.
Born in Jersey City in 1944, Sinatra Jr.’s mother was Nancy Barbato Sinatra, who was his father’s first wife.
The younger Sinatra tenured with Duke Ellington and Sam Donahue and later worked as Musical Director for his father.
After Frank Sr. died in 1998, Sinatra Jr. toured the country playing from his father’s songbook.
A bizarre footnote in his family’s legacy came when Sinatra Jr. was 19 and was kidnapped in Lake Tahoe at gunpoint.
His family paid a $240,000 ransom for his safe return.
