Fire Records To Reissue The Jazz Butcher’s Last Of The Gentleman Adventurers

Written by:

Well, we certainly like the way 2016 is beginning.

Fire Records will be reissuing The Jazz Butcher’s The Last Of The Gentleman Adventurers.

The 2012 album was Stereo Embers’ Album of the Year.

A crowdsourced effort that had a limited run of 1000 albums, unsurprisingly The Gentleman Adventurers quickly sold out of its initial pressing.

Fire’s reissue will contain the original liner notes by Alan Moore and a digital bonus track called “La Mer.”

Produced by Richard Formby, the album features the lineup of Pat Fish (guitar/lead vocals), Max Eider (guitar/vocals), Tim Harries (bass) and Jonny Mattock (drums). Sonic Boom of the Spacemen 3, Owen Jones and Formby himself all make appearances on the album.

Fire will also be reissuing the Butcher’s back catalog, and the label promises that 2016 will be, “bringing two new box sets encompassing the Glass Era and the Creation Era. Volume 1 will feature ‘In Bath Of Bacon’, ‘A Scandal in Bohemia’, ‘Sex & Travel’ and ‘Distressed Gentlefolk’ while Volume 2 will contain ‘Fishcoteque’, ‘Big Planet Scary Planet’, ‘Condition Blue’ and ‘Cult Of The Basement’.

The reissue will be on shelves February 19.
