A little over a week ago SEM published a review of Martin Kennedy project All India Radio’s tenth album (and first in four years) The Slow Light, a critical hosanna that ended like this: ” As appreciable as the composer’s ability to produce a piece of work that so deftly interweaves the otherworldly with the solidly terrestrial may be, preserving his focus during what was in effect a 48-month (and likely much-interrupted) vision quest is perhaps the greater achievement. The calm intensity of that sustained effort saturates The Slow Light at every turn. Terrific work.” Well, in hindsight, that may have been an understatement, as every pass we take through what seems a swirling house of sonic mirrors produces another fresh hit of wondrous wonder, leading to such unanswerables as ‘How does this sound soothe so hard it invigorates?’ and ‘When are they going to figure out how to put this music in pill form?’ As we ponder all this around the water cooler, we’re beyond proud to present the world video premier of “Can You Hear The Sound.” Prepare to be serenely exhilarated.
