Seeing Trey Anastasio live is one of the great joys of the world.
And in a world like the one we’re living in today, that means a lot.
The Phish frontman brought his band to the Brooklyn Bowl the other night (4/28) to play two nimble sets that were beyond satisfying.
Trey threw in Phish covers (“Ocelot” and “46 Days”) as well as numbers from his solo catalog (“Ether Sunday” and “Valentine”) and he also delighted the crowd with a raucous take on the Charlie Daniels Band’s “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.”
Also notable was the fact that the band made the live debut of three tracks: “Brief Time,” “Stumble Into Flight” and the fabulous “A Light Beyond The Dream.”
The band was loose and played free and breezy, while Trey held it all together with a dazzling display of peerless musical virtuosity.
Quite a night, indeed!
