Everything But The Girl’s Tracey Thorn To Reissue 1982 Debut Solo Album

Written by:

Tracey Thorn’s 1982 debut solo album A Distant Shore will be treated to a deluxe remastered reissue in October.

The chart-topping indie album was originally released through Cherry Red and contains songs like “Small Town Girl” and “Simply Couldn’t Care” as well as a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Femme Fatale.”

Remastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road, the reissue will feature new sleeve notes penned by Thorn as well as five previously unheard solo demos that were recorded from 1982-1983.

A spare but rich musical offering, A Distant Shore features Thorn accompanied only by an acoustic guitar.

The album was certified Gold in Europe in 2010.
