Austin, Texas-based musician and producer Tim Husmann, recording as 1st Base Runner, recently self-released his atmospheric and absorbing electronic/ambient debut album Seven Years of Silence.
On the LP the multi-instrumentalist crafts restless to introspective soundscapes that are draped with dusky and ruminative vocals.
Post-rock to downtempo-styled songs flow both inwardly and outwards with a contrasting balance of shadowy textures and expansive dynamics.
Husmann is no stranger to the music world and has performed in other acts and toured across North America in the past. He took a 7-year break from it all in order to start anew with 1st Base Runner.
Although his project is relatively fresh on the scene, 1st Base Runner’s music recalls the moody heights of alternative music when opaque and complex sounds and veiled emotions ran rampant.
Husmann has dropped some innovative music videos in support of Seven Years of Silence, and he’s also planning to release a more pop-oriented EP this summer.
