Duran Duran have announced that they have inked a global deal with Warner Bros.
The deal means that not only will the band’s new album be released on Warner Bros. it also means their back catalog will receive an extensive reissue campaign.
“We could not be happier to be making this deal with Warner Bros., and are looking forward to working on our forthcoming album release with not only their U.S. team but also everyone else within the Warner family around the world,” bassist John Taylor said in an official statement from the band. He went on to add: “We are also excited that this deal means we will be reunited with our catalogue after years apart – and in that sense it really feels a little like coming home.”
As for the new album, it was recorded in London and it’s slated to be released in September. It features a number of guest players, including Janelle Monáe, guitarist John Frusciante, and Canadian Juno-Award winner Kiesza.
Monáe makes an appearance on the album’s first single “Pressure Off.”
The Birmingham band formed in 1978 and over the course of their career have sold over 100 million albums.
