Dr. Dre is at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center’s intensive care unit after reportedly suffering a brain aneurysm.
Details are few, but the 55-year-old Compton-born rapper/producer/businessman is said to be in stable condition and some reports have described him as being lucid.
According to the Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm is, “…a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. A brain aneurysm can leak or rupture, causing bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke). Most often a ruptured brain aneurysm occurs in the space between the brain and the thin tissues covering the brain. This type of hemorrhagic stroke is called a subarachnoid hemorrhage.”
The Grammy Award-winning Dre was hospitalized on Monday and he underwent a battery of tests today (Jan 5) to try to determine what caused his condition.
