Apropos of nothing, Dinosaur Jr.’s J. Mascis has covered Tom Petty’s “Don’t Do Me Like That.”
In typically private Mascis-ian form, the clip showed up on YouTube April 9 with little fanfare and in lieu of a video, it’s a still caricature of the legendary indie rock guitarist.
Engineered and mixed by Marc Seedorf (Mark Mulcahy, Dinosaur Jr.), Mascis’ take on the 1979 Petty classic is deliciously droll and low-key.
