Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore has announced that his new solo album MG will be out in April.
Gore went right to work on the record shortly after Depeche Mode’s 2013 “Delta Machine” tour. Recorded at his Santa Barbara home studio, the album is comprised of 16 instrumental electronic tracks that were written and produced by Gore himself.
A founding member of Depeche Mode, who formed in Essex back in 1981, Gore has long been considered the sonic architect of Depeche Mode’s sound,
Gore’s last solo record was 2003’s Counterfeit², a collection of covers that found Gore trying his hand at numbers by everyone from Nick Cave to Lou Reed.
Due out in late April on Create/Control + Mute, MG is a journey through moody and lush atmospheric landscapes.
