Dallas Good has died.
The Sadies’ singer/guitarist was 49.
Although no cause of death has been reported, the CBC’s Chris Trowbridge tweeted that he had been in contact with the Sadies’ management and they said that Good had died of natural causes.
The son of Bruce Good, who played in the beloved Canadian bluegrass outfit The Good Brothers, Dallas Good was a deeply talented musician who formed the Toronto-based Sadies in the early ’90s with his brother Travis.
The band put out a handful of fabulous and critically adored albums, including their latest effort, 2017’s Northern Passages. They also collaborated with Neko Case, Jon Langford, Blue Rodeo, Gord Downie and Neil Young.
Good also played bass with Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet and was in the supergroups Phono-Comb and The Unintended.
Still very much an ongoing proposition, the Sadies just performed at Guelph’s Hillside Inside festival.
