The Coral are set to release a brand new album.
The only catch is, it’s not a brand new album at all.
Although it will indeed be new to the listener’s ear, the band’s Curse Of Love was recorded in 2006, but has remained shelved since then.
The Coral released their sixth album back in 2010 (Butterfly House) and have been largely inactive since then. Rumors have suggested the band has broken up, but it appears that they’re on what can only be described as an indefinite hiatus.
As for when and if The Coral might return with new material or reconvene for live dates, the band’s Ian Skelly told the NME back in 2013: “I don’t know. There just has to be a demand for it, people have to decide they want it. For now, we’re on a break. That might last until next month. It could be five years.”
The first single from Curse Of Love is a number called “Wrapped In Blue” and the album will be out in September.
