Comedian Ralphie May has died.
The Tennessee-born comic who had been ailing from pneumonia for the last six weeks, reportedly suffered a heart attack.
Ill as he had been, May didn’t cancel any of his dates in Las Vegas and last performed Thursday evening at Harrah’s (Oct 5).
May, who had been performing since 1989, shot to stardom after his turn on the 2003 edition of “Last Comic Standing.” He was a self-deprecating comedian who had a lacerating wit and a wry, observational style. His televised specials appeared on both NetFlix and Comedy Central and he recorded seven albums, including 2015’s Unruly.
May is survived by his two children.
