Christer Jansson, who played drums with Roxette has died.
He was 51.
Jansson also sat behind the kit with other Swedish acts like Monica Zetterlund, Lisa Nilsson, Peter LeMarc and Eldkvarn.
“He was a very intuitive drummer,” Stereo Embers’ Matt Sloan recalls. “He had a remarkable sense of timing and the kind of musical anticipation that can’t be taught.”
On their official Facebook page Roxette posted the following message: SAD NEWS to hear that Christer Jansson, our wonderful friend and splendid drummer on some of the Have A Nice Day and Room ServiceĀ recordings has passed away. Terrible beyond words. He will be truly missed.
P & M & fellow Rox musicians + crew.”
Jansson succumbed to cancer and died in his native Sweden.
