The Americana duo Birds Of Chicago (JT Nero and Allison Russell) are in the midst of recording their highly anticipated new album Real Midnight with producer Joe Henry.
The band is in the studio now with the Grammy Award-winning Henry in South Pasadena and they’re also in the final stretch of their Kickstarter campaign. The campaign is comprehensive and filled with exclusive items like rare tracks, concert tickets, limited edition prints (by painter Jenn Rawling) and handwritten lyrics.
Of the entire process, the band writes: “We believe in the old fashioned art of ALBUM-MAKING. Despite all the grim proclamations about the death of the music industry, we’re pretty sure there are a lot of people out there for whom actual albums are still a lifeline and anchor, an 11th hour resuscitator…For every single deep crisis we’ve ever faced – we can point you to an album that got us through it. The possibility of giving that sort of escape – or rescue – to other people, that’s the thing we are chasing, it’s the reason we do what we do…”
