The long-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice will be out in the Fall.
Titled Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the film, which features many of the same players from the original cast (Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, and Winona Ryder), also debuts characters played by Willem Dafoe, Jenna Ortega and Monica Bellucci.
Helmed once again by Burton, and produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B studio, the film just released its first trailer, which looks as madcap, bizarre and inventive as the original.
The original fantasy/horror film came out in 1988 to both commercial and critical acclaim, taking in almost $100 million at the box office. Pauline Kael of The New Yorker dubbed it a comedy classic while The New York Times declared it to be, “…a farce for our time.”
The film won an Academy Award for Best Makeup at the 61st Academy Awards.
