Bauhaus have announced they will release a 5-song EP this November.
Dubbed The Bela Session, the EP contains three previously unheard songs. The contents come from the 1979 studio session that yielded the legendary track “Bela Lugosi’s Dead.”
The five songs were all remastered by the Grammy Award-winning Mandy Parnell (The XX, Frightened Rabbit) at London’s Black Saloon studios and the source material she used was the band’s original analog tapes.
Notably, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” was a single-take recording and Parnell’s remastered version captures its dark immediacy.
Set to be released by Leaving Records on both white and black 45 rpm, 180-gram pressed vinyl, The Bela Session took place in January of 1979 and its release celebrates the band’s 40th anniversary.
Leaving Records has issued a statement confirming the EP was “produced directly with the band.”
The Bela Session is out November 23.
Meanwhile in other Bauhaus news, David J, Kevin Haskins and Daniel Ash have all appeared on Stereo Embers The Podcast.
