Paul Gordon, an in-demand musician who spent the last eleven years as the keyboardist for the B-52s has died.
He was 52.
Gordon, who died in Nashville, was said to have been battling an undisclosed illness.
Although the Rhode Island-born Gordon devoted much of his time to the legendary Georgia band, he remained an in-demand musician, writing, producing and playing with the likes of: The Goo Goo Dolls, Lisa Marie Presley, Natasha Bedingfield, The New Radicals, Charles and Eddie, Prince, Danielle Brisebois, Carly Smithson, Nona Hendryx, Brenda K. Starr, Noel, Chaka Kahn, Mandy Moore, John Gregory, Eran DD, Wild Orchid, David Yazbek and Anna Wilson.
A multi-instrumentalist, Gordon also composed television scores for programs on Fox, Spike TV and ABC Family.
On their official Facebook page, the B-52s posted this message about Gordon: “Our friend, keyboard player and guitarist, bandmate and brother, Paul Gordon passed away peacefully today and our hearts are broken. Words can’t express all the feelings we share as we remember his generous spirit, kindness and talent. He was and always will be a part of our B-52s family and we will miss him so much. We send our love to his family.”
Gordon is survived by a wife and two children.
