Dave Rosser of The Afghan Whigs has died.
The guitarist was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2016 and the disease was deemed inoperable.
He was 50.
On Facebook the band wrote: “It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our friend, brother and inspiration…Thank you to all who kept him in their hearts. He is forever in ours.”
Rosser, who was very close friends with singer Greg Dulli, joined the band in 2014 and played on the Whigs’ albums In Spades and Do To The Beast.
Rosser, who called New Orleans his home, also played with The Twilight Singers and The Gutter Twins and collaborated with singer/songwriter Marc Broussard and The Get Busy.
