AC/DC have revealed that Chris Chaney will be their new bassist.
The Bay Area-born Chaney is a widely respected session musician, having played with Bryan Adams, Jane’s Addiction, John Fogerty, Celine Dion, Joe Cocker and Beth Hart.
Educated at the Berklee College of Music, Chaney first made a name for himself back in 1995, when he played on Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill tour.
He replaced Eric Avery in Jane’s Addiction in 2002, and appeared on two of their studio albums (Strays, The Great Escape Artist) and in 2006 he became the bassist of Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders.
Replacing the retired Cliff Williams, Chaney will play with AC/DC on their first tour in nearly a decade.
