Written by:

News came today that Frank Zappa’s final studio album Dance Me This–recorded just before the legendary musician’s death in 1993–will finally see the light of day.

Here’s what we know about it so far:

1. Dance Me This is being billed as Zappa’s 100th album.

2. In a 1993 interview with Guitarist Magazine, Zappa said he was at work on Dance Me This, referring to it as, “…a Synclavier album…which is designed to be used by modern dance groups. It’s probably not going to come out until next year.”

3. Jambase published an email from the Zappa family, who say the album: “…is the last title FZ finished in 1993 along with Trance-Fusion; the last chapter in his Master Work, Civilization, Phase III; and of course, The Rage & The Fury, The Music Of Edgard Varèse.”

4. Some of the song titles are: “Pachuco Gavotte,” “Goat Polo” and “Wolf Harbor,” which comes in five movements.

5. Before now, Dance Me This never got a proper release date, however, advance promotional cassettes were rumored to be circulating as far back as 2004.

6. The pre-order link on Zappa’s official site urges fans to: “Tap your foot algorithmically to this!”

7. Dance Me This will be released June 1, 2015
