The fact of the matter is Peter Frampton is one of the greatest guitar players on the planet.
The other night in front of a packed house at the Capitol Theatre in New York, the 66-year-old Frampton was in fine form.
Touring behind his newest album Acoustic Classics, Frampton was backed by Rob Arthur (keys, guitar), Dan Wojciechowski (drums), Adam Lester (guitar), and Paul Peterson (bass). Everyone knows Frampton is a brilliant musician, but it turns out he’s also quite a raconteur, telling engaging stories about working with George Harrison and catching a typo on his Grammy
Not only did he sing his best known classics, he also surprised everyone with a range of covers including Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” Buddy Holly’s “Peggy Sue” and The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
