10 Things You Need To Know About The New Built To Spill Album

Written by:

News came out of the Built To Spill camp earlier this week that the band has a new album named Untethered Moon, which is set to be released on April 21st.

Here are 10 things to know about it.

1. Untethered Moon is Built To Spill’s eighth studio album.

2. Vinyl fans will benefit before anyone else, as the album will be made available exclusively on vinyl on Record Store Day (April 18).

3. Not only that, but a limited edition transparent blue vinyl version of the album will be randomly placed in the run of pressings for Record Store Day.

4. Pre-orders for the album began this week (February 24th) and all pre-orders include an instant download of “Living Zoo” which is the second song on Untethered Moon.

5. The album is the first Built To Spill effort with new members Steve Gere (drums) and Jason Albertini (bass).

6. Untethered Moon was produced by singer/guitarist Doug Martsch along with Quasi’s Sam Coomes.

7. Built To Spill’s last album was 2009’s There Is No Enemy.

8. The rumors are true–the band will be playing Coachella.

9. Built To Spill will open select dates for Death Cab For Cutie later this summer.

10. The album will contain ten new songs and the tracklisting is as follows:
