The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s are still on hiatus.
The New York band’s last album was Mosquito (2013) and in 2014 they announced they would be taking a break.
However, rumors began to swirl in the Spring that the band would be regrouping in 2016, but that looks unlikely at this point. Singer Karen O told Rolling Stone that there are no plans for the band to reconvene, dashing any imminent reunion possibilities.
Having just given birth for the first time, Karen O told the magazine that for now, motherhood is her first priority: “I’m in babyland at the moment…it’s all quite fresh and I’m technically on maternity leave right now, so everything is really up in the air. I’m going to see how it all pans out over the next few months with how to move forward with projects. But I’m so ensconced with having my first baby, that I’m just going to wing it and see how it goes.”
She went on to add: “It’s just waiting to see how everything works out with starting a family and seizing the moment when it strikes…I’m in the full-time job of [motherhood] at the moment.”
